The Foundation S'Olivar Majyambere branded the detention of "good news" and believes that is going "on the correct line"

From Europapress
S'Olivar Foundation has branded the arrest of member of the leadership of the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF), Justus Majyambere, "good news" and considered that this arrest is "in the right line to establish responsibility for the crimes denounced ".

In a statement, the organization headed by Juan Carrero has welcomed the arrest of this "criminal" in the U.S., after the international arrest warrant issued by the National Court against 40 Rwandan military, issued following the complaint of genocide filed initiative of the Foundation S'Olivar.

The NGO has found that the arrest is good news for the fight for human rights to go in the right way to establish responsibility in the crimes charged, that reach the current Rwandan President Paul Kagame.

According to the spokesman of the foundation, Manel Gomariz, this arrest is "a major step against impunity that has exhibited in recent years by the military leadership of Kagame's government."

According to the act issued by the Audiencia Nacional, Majyambere commanded the guerrilla who killed three members of the NGO Médecins du Monde-Flors Sirera, and Luis Manuel Madrazo Valtueña-in January 1997. In addition, the military arrested is responsible for the deaths of thousands of Rwandan and Congolese.

It may be recalled that five years ago, Judge Fernando Andreu ordered the arrest of 40 soldiers linked to the RPF Rwandan Kagame accused of genocide, crimes against humanity and terrorism. Found liable for the murder of more than four million Rwandans and nine Spanish citizens, six missionaries and three civilians, during the nineties.

Judge Andreu has confirmed the identity of the defendant can be extradited to the Spanish State and, on this, Gomariz is hoped that the Spanish authorities are "at the height of the circumstances," collaborate with justice and facilitate the processing of criminal arrested .

In this regard, NGO spokesperson recalled that on previous occasions, and as revealed by Wikileaks leaks, the central government had tried to cover up the crimes of Kagame and hinder the action of the High Court in relation to this case.
